Time for some Friday Finds from Pinterest, this week my theme is Recycle and Re-use!

Now this is really a wow factor for me!
This idea I really like!
A Recycled Cycle!
Made from Recycled Pickle Jars!

Recycling is good for all of us, my favorite thing to do is to take a pair of denim jeans and turn them into a number of things, Purses, Totes, Bible Covers, Bookmarks, Christmas Stockings, the possibilities are endless! So the next time you have something you are going to toss, STOP think for a minute I wonder what I could make from this.  (Disclaimer:  I am by no means suggesting you become a hoarder when in doubt throw it out!)

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Bookmarking The Pages Of Your Life......

Don't you wish that sometimes our lives could be like our computers? Where we could bookmark all the favorite moments of our lives, and then when you are having a bad day just click on one of your bookmarks and you would be taken back to that page in your life in an instant?

Of course we all have photos we can look back on and memories in our hearts and minds, but sometimes I wish just for once to go back and re-live some of those wonderful times just to relish in the moment one more time.  As we get older we sometimes lose the ability to remember some of those things (this is all too familiar for me as a care for a mother with Dementia), I would encourage everyone to keep a journal along with those photos so your children and grandchildren can also share your wonderful memories.

I am also introducing Bookmarks into my Shop:  These are very affordable and will help you bookmark your favorite verses of the Bible, or whatever book you are reading at the time.

These also make great little gifts!  You can see more information here.

ENJOY THE LITTLE MOMENTS IN LIFE, THEY MAY JUST END UP BEING ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE BOOKMARKS!

A Slice Of Summer....

Summer doesn't officially kick off until June 20th, however here in Texas it is already hot! Let's just hope we don't have a repeat of last year. Whew! I thought I was going to melt, and I was born and raised here!!!

Nothing says Summer to me more than a slice of sweet, juicy watermelon!  Most people thump them to see if they are ripe, my dad always said never buy a watermelon till after July 4th, that is when the best and the sweetest ones are ready!  Makes my mouth water and my heart happy to think about those times of sitting on the front porch of a hot evening eating slices of watermelon so sweet and juicy that is was running down your chin when you took a bite!  Oh and of course having a seed spitting contest with dad!

Here is a great item from my shop that is perfect for Summer as well, and goes right along with the watermelon theme!

This also comes with a matching plastic bag holder to hang in your kitchen and store those grocery bags in.

Also to go along with Watermelon Wednesday, I made this treasury, there are some great items from some great shops here.  I would love it if you would visit and comment.

Have a Great Watermelon Wednesday!

My Favorite Memories.....

Today would have been my Dad's 83rd Birthday. Dad passed away in January of 1989, I wish he were still here to see all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  I miss him but I have some wonderful memories...

  • Dad was 6'5, I remember riding on his shoulders and feeling like I was on top of the world.
  • Dancing on his feet.
  • Dad was a Truck Driver, I have been all over the United States, we used to get to go with him in the Summer time.  I loved sitting on the Doghouse in the truck and my favorite time was driving at night.
  • We never had much money but he managed to take us to see all the Disney Movies, and the John Wayne movies. And we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show every year.
  • He was the baby of 12 children and all his brothers and sisters got together every year over the Labor Day Weekend.  Daddy loved spending time with his family.  I have such wonderful memories of those Family Reunions.
Losing your loved ones is a hard thing, but by the Grace of God the tears turn to smiles as you focus on those wonderful memories and the love that lives in your heart for the rest of your life.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

You Are My Sunshine......

It is hard for me to believe that my oldest grandchild will be turning 4 this Thursday, where does the time go??
Natalie Jo and I bonded from the get go! In fact I delivered her, the nurse stepped out of the room to go get the Doctor, my daughter said"Mama the baby is coming" when the Doctor walked in, I was holding Natalie Jo.

So it is hard for me to believe that 4 years have just flown by!  She will be staying with me for a week starting next Saturday.  Not sure how much work I will get done, even though she loves to sit with me as I sew stuff for Bags By Hags but we have bubbles to blow, a driveway that needs chalk drawings, nature walks to take, and even a camp out planned with her cousin one night.  I plan on enjoying every minute with her as time does fly by!

She truly is my sunshine (in fact that is "our' song we sing it together all the time)

I am truly, truly BLESSED!

Fabulous Friday Finds.....

Happy Friday from Bags By Hags!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my fabulous finds from Pinterest!

I love the rustic look so I fell in love with this shoe rack!
These would be so cute in a Country Kitchen!

This is magic fairy dust! I already have the things needed to make these on my list for my grand-daughters 4th Birthday next weekend.  All little girls will love this! You just cut a glow stick and dump in a jar, add some glitter then put the lid on the jar and shake it up.  I am going to give it a try!

Finally some yummy Peanut Butter Bars! I already have the ingredients for these on my list as well.  You can find the recipe here

I hope you all have a great weekend!  And I would love it if you would follow along with me on Pinterest!
