Good Ole Summer-Time!

One of the great things for me about Summer time is all the fresh fruits and vegetables.  Nothing is better than  fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and of course watermelon!

You can find great recipes on Pinterest one of my favorite places to peruse and get ideas. Take a look at these yummy items I found!

This actually made my mouth water!

Cucumber and Tomato Salad- One of my Summer Favorites!

This last photo is actually from my daughter, she found a new way to fry fresh squash, instead of dipping them in flour dip them in instant mashed potato flakes!  She said these were so good!

Bags By Hags also has some great summer items in stock to use when cooking, Potato Bags, and Pot Holder Handles are great items to have on hand in your kitchen!

What is some of your favorite Summer Recipes?  I would love to hear them!!!!

Avocado - It's not just for Guacamole!

I love avocados! I can eat them on anything, I even sometimes just cut one up and eat it alone.  Most everyone associates the avocado with Guacamole which of course is another of my favorites!
You can find this recipe which is quick and easy here.

I also located a recipe which uses avocado to help with dry skin

Of Course another thing I like about the avocado is the color, I remember back in the 70's this was all the rage for your kitchen color.  Even the appliances where coming out in this color.  A great Avocado Colored item in the shop is one of our Potato Bags

And also today I curated a treasury of avocado items, hope everyone has a AHHHH Avocado Kind of Day!

Say AHHH Avocado with all these wonderful items! Enjoy!!!

Fabulous Friday Finds.....

Happy Friday from Bags By Hags!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my fabulous finds from Pinterest!

I love the rustic look so I fell in love with this shoe rack!
These would be so cute in a Country Kitchen!

This is magic fairy dust! I already have the things needed to make these on my list for my grand-daughters 4th Birthday next weekend.  All little girls will love this! You just cut a glow stick and dump in a jar, add some glitter then put the lid on the jar and shake it up.  I am going to give it a try!

Finally some yummy Peanut Butter Bars! I already have the ingredients for these on my list as well.  You can find the recipe here

I hope you all have a great weekend!  And I would love it if you would follow along with me on Pinterest!

Texas Tips It's a Tough Economy.......

We all know the economy is still pretty tough, most Americans are pinching their pennies even tighter these days, I know I am.  It seems prices just keep rising.  Feeding your family good meals on a budget can be such a challenge, we all get tired of the same thing week after week.  So today I thought I would share a recipe with you that is great for your budget, feeds a good size crowd, and is very yummy! (It is one of my families favorite meals)

Its based on Tater Tots:
Tater Tot Casserole!

1 Pound of Ground Beef
2 Cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Can of Whole Kernel Corn (drained)
1 Package of Tater Tots
Salt and Pepper to Taste

Brown the ground beef in a skillet on your stove, drain off the fat, add the soup and corn.  Stir it all together and let it simmer as you preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on the package of tater tots.
On the bottom of your baking pan put about half the bag of tater tots.  Spoon the meat mixture over the top, then add the rest of the tater tots.  Bake per instructions on the tater tots.  If desired right before taking out of the oven you can sprinkle with grated cheese and let it melt.

Serve with a salad and rolls and you have a great meal!  For larger crowds simply double the recipe.

Here is another great item that won't bust your budget and is great to have while you are cooking.

I have numerous styles available in my shop, to see them all click here  These are such great items to slip over your pots as you are cooking like this:

Right now included with your purchase you will receive a free family recipe. Until next time, happy cooking, sewing, and saving!
