New and Improved!

As a Handmade Artist sometimes our work area can get out of control, especially when we are busy and in the creative mode.  I am someone that just cannot work in chaos, and my work area had become chaos! So I have spend the last two days, sorting, organizing, and tossing! Out with the old and in with the new!  I am super excited about my new area and wanted to share with everyone!

My wonderful husband put up Pegboard for me, I love having all my tools organized! He also hung a Wooden Bags By Hags sign it makes me feel so official!

If you sew you NEED one of these, it is so awesome to have your thread organized and at the tips of your fingers!

The cutting table and my sewing desk.  (My machine will be uncovered and hard at work this afternoon!)
My husband is going to put up 2 shelves for me as well.

Now that everything is clean and organized it is time to go to work!
How do you stay organized?  I would love to hear your tips!

  1. Yep...Out of control is what our workspace looks like right now! I like that peg board. =0) I think we need a few shelves. we stay organized with lots of plastic storage bins, but we don't have any shelves for them yet.

  3. Thank You! It is hard to stay on top of keeping it organized. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do all we need to do!

  4. I know the feeling, I'm currently opperating out of a basket in my living room, my kitchen table (we use it for pretty much everything except eating), and a 3 drawer rolling cart. I have no idea how I'm keeping everything organized between my husband, school, work plus my shop.

I'm a little embarrassed to say so, but so far my organization consists of several piles, projects I want to work on in the future, projects I am currently working on, finished projects that still need to be washed/ listed, and items that are actually listed. It's a weird little system but so far it hasn't failed me yet. Although, I'm really looking forward to getting enough funds together so I can put together a "real" work space in my spare bedroom.
