Getting My Groove Back.....

This has not been a very productive week sewing wise for me, I am still trying to overcome being sick and just still do not feel like myself.  But it's time to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get back in the groove!

I have been busy working on the Handmade Circle Team Christmas in July Sale, I am super excited about this, and am looking forward to a great sale, so many wonderful shops have signed up for this.  Be sure and stay tuned as information will be coming out next week about the sale.

While I didn't make anything new this week, Bags By Hags has some great items for a great price! Here are a couple of my favorites:

The Bible Covers are one of my most favorite items in the shop!

Pot Holder Handles only $3.00 for a set, makes a great gift and several patterns available!

I am looking forward to getting my groove back and making new items.  How was your week? Did you create something new?  I would love to see it!

Be Still......

We live in a 24 hour, get it in an instant world today.  It used to not be that way, I come from a generation of working hard to reach your goal and good things will come to those who wait. I fear the young folks of  today don't know about that, due to the fast paced world we all live in they all think you start at the top, get everything you want at once, and get rich quick.

I too am sometimes guilty of wanting it all now.  I want my shop to be a success, but I know that I cannot have that in an instant.  I must work hard on my products, marketing my shop, and good things will be my reward if I work hard enough.

For me I know that sometimes I just need to "Be Still" and keep the Faith that the Good Lord above will guide my next step.  I have found that most times my ideas for my items come to me when I am just sitting still.  Take for instance this Bible Cover, I was struggling on how to design it, I walked away and left it.  I got still and low and behold it came to me like a ton of bricks.  Here is the finished Product.
This is one of my favorite Bible Covers.

I hope everyone takes the time to "Be Still" you never know what may come to you, or what you may see!

Things to do with Denim....

I love working with denim, my favorite thing to do is to take a pair of denim jeans and recycle them into something new!  I love to take a pair of jeans and make several items out of just one pair.  I usually start with cutting them off like shorts and make Denim Purses. Each purse is made unique and one of a kind, with different straps and adornments.  This is one of my favorite ones.

I then can take the legs and make tote bags like this one.
During Christmas I take the legs and turn them into Stockings. This was a custom order I received this last Christmas:
I also love to make Bible Covers out of denim, in fact these are my favorite things to make! Again each one is made unique and different, you can be assured you are getting a One of A Kind Item
Keep watching Bags By Hags you never know what may turn up in denim next!  Or if you have a particular item or style in mind feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to do a Custom Order for you!

My Creative Wednesday

I was a sewing machine today! Today I worked on Bible Covers for my shop.   These are my very favorite items to make, I make each one totally unique, I want each of them to be a very special one of a kind item for the people that buy them.

For the first one I made this is the pattern I picked out:
I then needed to decide on the color I wanted my handles to be, I decided to pick from one of these books that my friend brought me.  Look at all these!  There are some great pieces in here!
I decided on a pretty pink one, so I sewed up my handles first.
I then sandwiched all my layers together and pinned it in place.
I sewed it up leaving an opening for turning it right side out:
I then top stitch it to enclose the opening and iron it to make it all pretty and smooth:
See how the Bible fits into the pockets?
Once I was all done sewing, I added a few jewels to the outside for the finishing touch!
It is now all done and ready for photos and listing in my shop
You can see this Bible Cover and all the other ones I made today here.  I am listing the rest of them as soon as I hit the publish button.  I hope you enjoyed spending some creative time with me, and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  Have a blessed, happy Thursday everyone! ♥
